This 1/2" drive 1-3/16" deep impact socket reaches nuts on long studs and fasteners sitting down in a recess, where a standard length socket runs out of room. Its 6 point hex grips the fastener across a broad contact area, which cuts down on rounded corners and slipping.
The 2038D measures 3.54 in overall with a 1.73 in outside diameter and 2.92 in of bolt clearance. Chrome-molybdenum alloy steel and a High Torque drive design work together here: pressure moves to the thicker part of the wall, so the socket takes up to 20% more torque than a standard hex impact socket.
