The bit is precision ground high speed steel with a 2-9/16" overall length, a 1-7/16" flute length and a 1/8" round shank that fits a standard drill chuck. Its brad point locates each hole, while spur cutting edges and wide flutes cut cleanly and clear debris quickly. Slide the collar onto the bit, secure it at the depth your stud size calls for, then drill until the collar meets the tread.
