Description
Give your winter tire customers real bite on ice with Bruno Wessel TSMI #17 Road Grip tire studs. A 2.4mm tungsten carbide pin grips glare ice and hard-packed snow, helping drivers stop sooner, accelerate quicker and hold their line through the turns.
This is the TSMI #17 size, metric designation TSC 8.8-16/1, with a 16mm overall length, a 15mm body and an 8.8mm base flange. It fits passenger car, light truck and SUV winter tires with pre-molded #17 stud holes, and many tire makers print the right TSMI number on the sidewall. If yours does not, measure the hole depth and match it to the 15mm body length; as a general guide, a hole that gauges 17/32" deep calls for the #17.
Seated correctly, only the carbide pin and about 1/32" of the body show above the tread, and the rubber clamps tight around the base flange to keep the stud in place. Studs seat best in new tires, since driven tires collect dirt in the stud holes. Have customers drive gently for the first 50 to 100 miles so every stud settles in.
Install them with the TSIT-9 stud gun and a Mini Feeder 4048 or BWFP-9A auto feeder, or set up a full station with the K-5A stand or SATSIM studding machine.
This listing includes one box of 1,000 TSMI #17 tire studs. Stud laws and seasons vary by state and province, so check local regulations before installing.
